Production Planning Coordinator

As a Production Planning Coordinator, you play a pivotal role in the entire Sales &Operation Planning process. Because of your knowledge of the entire process, you can coordinate between commercial and marketing, engineering, purchasing and production. Your independent approach, technical & communications skills and influence allow you to coordinate a smooth production schedule based on sales orders. Under minimal supervision, you can plan, execute and adjust according to what is required. You interface with Commercial, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering and Production within this role. Furthermore, you push for process-oriented working methods that use the organization's ERP system as an asset. Finally, you can report on the S&OP process to relevant stakeholders.

The function:

  • Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetings;
  • Work closely with customer service and forecasting to determine orders to be slotted in weekly buckets according to production plan and availability;
  • Check MRP/MPS analysis before determining the work order due date & quantity;
  • Ensure customer order sequencing build schedule is maintained;
  • Provide and retrieve relevant data from and to production planners;
  • Oversee regular production and scheduling meetings, providing status of current production runs, purchase shortages and capacity problems/solutions;
  • Conduct regular forecast meetings align data transactions for inventory and operations;
  • Adjust MPS for all products to satisfy marketing's forecasted requirements and current customer orders and update ERP systems accordingly;
  • Work closely with team leads to ensure the production schedule is followed in a timely manner. Work closely with production to resolve issues;

 The profile: 

  • 5-10 years of experience in inventory control, production planning, purchasing scheduling or a related manufacturing field.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of production processes and systems;
  • Excellent communication and strong influencing skills;
  • Ability to interact effectively at different levels of the organization;
  • Strong ability to look at the big picture while maintaining the power to zoom in;
  • Independent with strong problem-solving skills.
